A Little Quickie...Remember This Journal

Better late than never.  I know I should have done this to have for the first of the year...but I just saw a post that gave me the idea.  So, really, it's not my fault.
This little journal is to help me remember all the cute, funny things my boys say and do.  I have an AWFUL memory.  When I finally get to scrapping this year, I want to be able to include all the little things that happened that don't necessarily have a picture to go with them.
It pulled together rather quickly.  I had leftovers from the Simple Stories Life Documented collection I used to scrap 2009.  Sticker phrases are Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type.

have to switch out the spiral to silver...that blue is all wrong.
Each month gets a handful of pages.  Originally I was thinking one side of a page for each day.  That would have been a really fat journal!
You got that right!

Slight obsession with kraft paper.
Pretty much that is it.  Bound it all together with The Cinch {{{love}}}.  Thanks for looking!

Creative Procrastination

I have a To Do List a mile long. Seriously, have so much laundry and cleaning to do. Need to go grocery shopping which will involve a trip to WalMart as well. All I have managed to accomplish this week after traveling the last THREE weekends is one load of laundry. I did clean my scrap cave. It was destroyed. That made me want to make something. So,I figured, why not make a book for my to do lists, and shopping list and whatnot's.
Here is what I came up with:

I used some heavy book boards by 7gypsies and the MME Life Stories Collection. I had a chunk of already bound graph paper from an old journal that was taken apart. That is what I built the cover around.
It was a quick project...but procrastination none the less. Oh well........guess I better work on that grocery list now.

If only....

...I could make it stay clean and organized.
Remember this picture from a few days ago?

Well, after several hours and a few "helpers", my scrap cave is clean and organized!!! Yippee. Let the scrapping (and inevitable messing up of the room) begin!

As much as I would love one of those spaces where everything has a cute little storage container, I am a visual person. I need to see what I have.

The only thing I really have in a storage container is all my paper. But that I have separated by brand.
Anyway....so glad to be done with this. Can I tell you how much fun it is to clean (anything for that matter) with the help of 3 little boys. Joey wanted all my stuff, "Mommy, can I have this? Do mens scrapbook too?". Jake only want to dump out all the buttons. And Josh was in to everything he could reach!

Now if I can find the time in the next few days....I am hoping to use the space. ALONE! :)

btw...there are still a few more days to leave me a comment over on THIS post (if you haven't already) to be entered to win a scrap kit!

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (or cleaning the Scrap Cave).

BEFORE: I had no space on my scrap desk. Things were everywhere. I had bins filled with items that need to be put back. Stuff was avalaching off the shelf above me. Under the desk was so cluttered I had to straddle the trash can just to pull the chair in close enough to reach the desk. Things were buried under other things...it was NOT a peaceful environment to scrap in...at all.

AFTER: A day and a half later...and it is so clean and organized. I just want to sit in there. Just to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet (but that would mean I would have to get rid of the kids first!).
Let me give you a tour....
I rearrange some things. I move the CD holders that house my clear stamps (ran out of the skinny tape for my label maker)...this time going horizontal. It created two shelves that I can now display my wooden stamps and some of the ink pads I use most often...also gave me a place for my 7gypsies stacked stamps (purchased from Flowers to Flourishes) and my MM magnetic stamps. A shelf with little hooks holds my bigger stamp sets and some that are still in the original packaging (some need to be sorted into CD cases and some will stay as is due to their size). The shelf also holds the three circle punches I use with my brad maker, a regular stapler and my new love the Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz. This thing is awesome. Hopefully if you are reading this you are also playing my 31 Days of March Contest for a chance to win one!!!
I move one of my peg boards to the side wall. I now have a corner for all the other items I use...I tried to hang them in groups of sameness..ie: rub-ons, stickers, alphabets, bling etc..
Next I reorganized my MM desk carousel (thank you CropChocolate). Grouped those items too. I also labeled as much as possible. Above my desk I have two boxes with alterable items in them and a box that has wedding items for the album that I will finish someday. I got them pretty cheap at WalMart. In the clear containers are my unfinished wedding album, all my MME paper (I have a ton!), the 2008 album I am working on in a Simple Stories fashion and the kits I got through Club Scrap. Next are some shoe boxes from Michael's. These contain extra adhesive, blank envelopes and cards, items for my little Janome sewing machine and stamping supplies (like acrylic blocks and cleaning stuff). Moving around the corner I have a box with dies in it for my Epic 6 and my Epic 6. Next comes all my chipboard items. On the shelves below that I have canning jars with buttons, flowers and loose bling. All my ribbon has finally been sorted by color...I had a HUGE bucket of still to be sorted ribbon...it is now all sorted!!! Not shown is my cart of drawers with all my paper (separated by manufacturer). Then I used those in/out boxes for all my scraps. Hanging on the door to my CAVE are all my collections that I have matching embellies and what not. They are in big plastic envelopes (purchased at WalMart) and clipped to skirt hangers. I find this very helpful.

Thanks for taking a tour. We'll see what happens to my space once I start working on something. I am really bad at putting things away!!

Organizing and Ribbon Jar Guessing Game

I am totally re-organizing my Scrap Cave. It is getting there (especially if you don't count the jar I just broke that got glass all over the floor!!). I am hoping that once I have everything organized...I will regain some of my scrapping mojo. It seems every time I get the desk cleared off, it gets cluttered up again with the next section I am working on. But I figure it has to end some time...right???

So in an attempt to help get this CAVE cleaned up...I have a jar filled with ribbon scraps. Each piece ranges from 1inch or so to 12 inches or so. All you have to do to win all the ribbon in the jar is guess the right number of pieces. First person to guess correctly wins. Only one guess per hour!! Good luck!

Scrap CAVE...a work in progress & a b-day card

So, all of my stuff is finally moved...just need to organize it a bit better. It is actually rather cozy in there.

Can't wait to lock myself in the closet!!!

I managed to actually make a card last week. It felt so good to make something. Hopefully I will get a chance to do more this weekend. I need to start thinking about birth announcements. I had Jake's done before he was born...all I had to do was add a picture. Could I possible have that happen again for this child???

Anyway..here is the birthday card I made. Scraplifted it from a card I saw online....I used paper for the candles instead of ribbon.

Organized...(for the time being)

I spent the better part of the weekend organizing, cleaning and weeding through my scrap room. I guess I should have taken a before picture. DUH! Anyway...I am itching to scrap now. Anyone want to come babysit for me so I can??? PLEASE???

I had all my ribbon wrapped around clothespins and stored in jars. I had found the idea on someones blog. In theory it is a great idea. In reality...a bit of a PITA. So I have opted to hang my ribbon from one of my peg boards. I still have one more jar to finish...it must have most of my green ribbon (that seems to be what is missing from my wall). I also still need to go through all my chipboard. It is on top of that tall shelf in that little drawer thingy. I got lazy and they have become a jumbled mess. I also had to change my clear stamp storage. I had made a box to hold all my CD cases that store my clear stamps. But I had too many. So I got this cheap CD holder at IKEA. It is awaiting some paint or something.

So in the process of cleaning...I have unearthed several forgotten treasures. Some of which (well actually most of which) I am selling. If you are in the market for some new scrap supplies please check out my other blog to see what I am offering. Plus if you sign up to follow that blog you will be entered in a Monthly Drawing. We just had our first one the other day. Next one is April 1st (or is it!! LOL).

Also...I wanted to remind all of you that MemoryWorks has a bunch of new product form CHA 09 posted!! I WANT IT ALL!! Be sure to check that out...Some of it is selling fast. There are also a bunch of markdown items as well. I have a new promo going on for March..which you can view on my website's homepage.
