Quickie

This is a quickie card I did based on Monday Sketch 55 from http://stampez.typepad.com/my_weblog/. Another Thank You Card to add to the batch. Thanks to Heather Scott for the great sketch!!

I used MME papers.

Thank You Cards

These are a few of the thank you cards I have been working on. Between Jake's birthday, Hanukkah and Christmas...I need several.
Now I just need to get them addressed and mailed!

Clear Stamp Holder....

I have recently organized my clear stamps into CD cases. For a while now I have had them stacked on a shelf. They topple over whenever I reach for one. I have not been able to find a rack in a store...so I came up with this.

I took the box my Bind-it-All came in. Painted it brown....covered it with some MME Laundry Line paper and ribbon...and viola.

Life as Lou Give-a-way

Come check out this awesome give away
Christmas Mini Album: Pages 7 & 8 - PLUS $150 Give-A-Way!. All you have to do is leave a comment for a chance to win $150 worth of Cosmo Cricket!!! And while you are there be prepared to be blown away by her amazing work!!!

Oh Christmas Tree...What ya doing to me???

So we put up tree number two the other day. Long story short...the first one we put up seemed sparse so we got a different one at Wal-Mart. You know, one of those pre-lit, put it up in three easy steps trees. NOT. First it weighs 400 pounds! And second...the plugs are soooo hard to find. Anyway...it is up. Yippee. After several hours of off and on fluffing it was looking good. So we went on an ornament shopping spree. I have to say, Joey had a blast. He must have looked at every single ornament. Those finally made it to the tree last night. And it looks good.

Jake had more fun playing with the beaded garland. In fact he didn't want to give it up!!

Joey hanging the first ornament.

The boys NEVER look at the camera at the same time. Know how I got them to do it this time? I said, "Daddy has a boogie" and they both looked!! LOL

Finished tree.

Joey admiring his handy work

When Joey got up this morning he plugged in the tree (hoping he doesn't electrocute himself!). I asked him if he was coming downstairs, and he said "I am not finished looking at the tree". Boy is he going to be upset when we take it down!

Then later this morning he and Jake went up to make sure it was still lit up. A few minutes later Joey yells downstairs, "Mommy don't come up". Well that is NEVER good. So of course I went up. About 10 ornaments were off the tree and on the couch. This tree is going to be the death of me!!

Thank You Card

I got this sketch from http://stampez.typepad.com/my_weblog/. And since I am feeling simple today...I thought it was perfect. Here is my take on it:

I finally used a clear stamp set I got a while back at http://www.scrappycatonline.com/ ...In Bloom. I stamped the images with Staz On ink and then colored them in with my colored pencils. I really need to get some Diamond Glaze. I think it would make my stamped images look even better. Anyway...I am pretty happy with the turn out. The stitching on the front of the card is actual stitching (not my strong suit) and the stitching on the inside of the card is a rub on.
Sadly this took me about 3 hours...with interruptions galore from my boys and interruptions from my imagination...

Hopefully this will be the jump start I need to get more Thank You cards done. Thanks for the sketch Heather!

Stuck...

I am stuck. Tried all weekend to create something...make something. Anything. Couldn't do it. I have lost my scrappin' mojo. Not sure why.
Wanted to work on some Thank You cards. The one I managed to make came out like crap. UGHHHHH...
I need some motivation. Can anyone motivate me???

Yippee...It's Here....

I just took it out of the box. My new Cricut Expression!!! I am so excited that I got to upgrade to the larger one. Now if only I could try it out. Jakey never took a nap. I have spent the better part of this day cleaning up after them. I should have taken a picture. At one point you could not even see the floor. But getting back to the Cricut. It came with a Plantin Schoolbook cartridge which I do not need. If anyone would like to buy it from me, I am asking $30 (shipping it on me).

My kid is going to be in the music industry

Joey LOVES to sing. All day long. When we are in the car, he needs to know the names of every song that comes on. And usually will remember the names of the ones he has heard before. One of his current favorites is "It Ends Tonight" by the All American Rejects. I got him singing a snippet using my camera. What a nut this kid is!!!

The Young and The Restless...

It is nap time...thank you!! And happily Jake is staying in his bed. Joey is playing with his stickers. For not quite four that kid is getting very sneaky. He knows if he uses the potty I will give him some stickers. So I think he just goes once on the potty just to get them. I am going to have to start approaching this differently.
I am restless to make something. But what....for some reason I have no desire to work on Christmas cards. I am thinking about making a book. A recipe book for my sister for her birthday. I have been inspired by some absolutely gorgeous recipe books I stumbled upon on blog called Creative Paint and Paper (You can click the link under Blogs I Browse to see what I mean). I won't fool myself into thinking I could come close to duplicating what she has done. But I will run with the inspiration!

Is that SNOW I see??

Can't believe it, but for the second time this week it has snowed in Las Vegas. It is like being on the East Coast again. The boys (and I count my husband in that category) sat in front of the window watching it snow last night. These are the mountains that you can see from the livingroom upstairs.

in your EYES

This is my latest LO. I did it for a challenge I am taking part in on Cafemom. We had to scraplift a favorite LO. This one was hard for me. While I love to get inspiration from other people's work...only on rare occasion do I copy it exactly. Usually it turns into something of it's own. But I have to say I really love this one. I used MME paper for this. I LOVE their papers....all of them. Sometimes I find it difficult to cut them. This picture was taken at a place called Springs Preserve here in Vegas. Jake was looking at the bunnies hopping around. I used paint.net to make it black and white, and then I brought the color back to the background and his eyes. If it weren't for this cute little face...this child would make me absolutely insane. This was a rare moment of stillness for him.

First Post

I am excited about trying my hand at blogging. If nothing else, it will serve as an online journal of my life and the things I am working on. I have to say...I am addicted to browsing all the scrapbook blogs out there. And I am amazed at how much talent is out there.
